Learn step by step instructions to apply PAN Card for Students

A PAN (Permanent Account Number) card is a non-transferable Identification provided by NSDL on behalf of the Government of India. A PAN (Permanent Account Number) card is necessary for all persons who file taxes or seek a refund check. An adult could also use his / her PAN card to prove his / her Identification and age. In a govt-issued passport, everything including buying a vehicle to applying for a mortgage is recognized as evidence of Identification.

How to Apply PAN Card Online for students:

Trying to use as a student for a PAN card could be performed both offline and online. A student’s PAN card application does not have a particular form or procedure. You will have to apply for a Minor PAN Card or a regular PAN Card, depending on your situation at the time of application.

To apply PAN Card online, one needs to follow the steps below:

  • Access the NSDL TIN portal and tap on the Homepage tab “Online PAN Application.”
  • From the choices presented in the dropdown menu pick the PAN Card Application Form
  • Choose Form 49A for Indian nationals living in India
  • Review the document filling instructions carefully and select from the choices at the bottom of the page the correct group 
  • Fill out the online form with the necessary details, such as initials, address, birth date, aadhaar number
  • Add the required documents and apply the PAN Card Application Form. If you can not, submit the records by mail together with the acknowledgement
  • An automated recognition comprising a monitoring reference number will be produced
  • Publish this section and paste the images in the main part, sign the document and post this to the address of the NSDL listed on the recognition
  • Upon sufficient Identification of the implementation, the PAN card is mailed to the address indicated in the form

Offline PAN Card Application:

  • Get a sample of Form 49A from either the NSDL or UTIITSL website or download a copy of the form
  • Tick the choice for a Minor PAN card as given in the application depending on your circumstances at the time of entry
  • Upload the necessary documentation as shown in the document and forward both the papers, the administration fee and the submitted and approved form to the closest TIN facilitation office
  • You should receive a pan acknowledgement and, only after the request has been validated and reviewed, collect your PAN card by mail at the address given in the document
