Warner bros has now been working for some years on a franchise of Black Adam with Dwayne Johnson, which will finally bring the Villain of Shazam back to life. Black Adam is a highly anticipated DC Extended Universe movie in which Dwayne Johnson aka ‘The Rock’ is preparing to enter the DC universe family as ‘Black Adam’. It is not the first time this character is being introduced, as Black Adam first made his debut in the year 1945. Black Adam had to be introduced in Shazam as an antihero but later it was decided to launch a separate movie for this specific character.
The movie is long awaited as it had to be release on December 2021st but due to the Covid-19 pandemic situation, the release date was further delayed. As the fans have been waiting for the release eagerly, the movie will hit theatres on the 29th of July 2022. Below we have discussed the top fan theories about Black Adam and Dwayne Johnson’s role in it.

Backstory
Before moving to the fan theories, let’s go over a little background of Black Adam. The Black Adam also known as Teth-Adam was born in Kahndaq Egypt in the year 1279 BC, and is known to have tried to rule Egypt. Initially Black Adam was a superhero, but after his family was killed by Four Horsemen of Apokolips, Teth-Adam turned to darkness and accidentally released the demons known as the Seven Deadly Sins. He was then imprisoned for his crimes for 5000 years. Black Adam will be returning from prison and is determined to return to Kahndaq to its former glory.
Ever since the trailer came out, DC fans have been greatly excited to see the new superhero, but the questions is whether he really is a superhero. Some theories say that he will be an Antihero. Let’s read along and go through Black Adam’s character analysis that we found out.
The Power of Adam
Like Billy, when Teth-Adam says the magic word ‘Shazam’, he will be transformed into Black Adam, with the power of six Egyptian Gods with similar abilities such as the Gods SHU’s incredible stamina and invulnerability, HERU’s unmatchable super speed, AMON’s tremendous physical strength, ZEHUTI’s great wisdom and knowledge, ATON’s lightning powers and lastly MENTHU‘s unshakeable courage.
Dual Characters
Dwayne Johnson could play two characters, one as a Black Adam in modern days and Teth-Adam in Ancient Egypt. The Rock has already played a character in Scorpio king, an ancient Egyptian era, so it will be easy for him to justify the role if he portrays Teth-Adam’s character. The villainous background and Black Adam’s lust for power could be because of the injustice he faced 5000 years ago, which eventually made him a different person. Whereas, Teth-Adam 5000 years ago might possess better judgment and temperance.
Return of Henry Cavil as Superman
Black Adam might be seen fighting with Superman, who is the strongest character of DC comics. So, there is a chance that Henry Cavill returns once again as superman. The fans are desperately waiting to see ‘The Witcher’ as Superman once again, because it was also confirmed by Geekosity a pop-culture magazine that the Superman, aka Son of Krypton will appear at the End of the movie Black Adam. He will be appearing in the same black suit like he appeared in Zack Snyder’s Justice League. If the news is true, Black Adam vs Black Suited Superman will be one of the best fights in the history of DCEU till date. Black Adam may open the door for the Justice Society of America and other characters to enter the DC universe. Well, don’t do not confuse justice society with justice league, because before the Justice League, there was a supergroup of superheroes called Justice society of America (JSA), that protected the world back in the 1940s. The group has different superheroes such as Hawkman, Cyclone, Doctor Fate, and Atom Smasher. We will see Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, Quintessa Swindell as cyclone, and Pierce Brosnan as Doctor Fate and the character of Atom Smasher will be played by Noah Centineo. There could be a chance that all these Superheroes might end up a little bruised after Fighting with Black Adam in the plot.
Return of Shazam’s Villain
Fans are debating about the return of the villain, Mister Mind, and the Seven Deadly Sins. The Seven Deadly Sins were entombed by the end of the origin movie.
Four Horsemen of Apokolips
Another fan theory for Black Adam is that, the Four Horsemen of Apokolips being in the film’s plot. The Horsemen of the comics were responsible for the death of Black Adam’s family and the destruction of Kahndaq, so, it would make perfect sense for them to have a huge impact on his big screen character. They could be used for his character development or as a hurdle in his mission.
More Violence
Dywane Johnson has emphasized throughout productions that Black Adam will be a darker movie, and potentially a more violent turn for the DC Extended Universe. It is going to be more like Superman – Man of Steel with more violence. What we believe with the above mentioned theories and possibilities is that there could be a clash between two characters such Superman and Black Adam which is understandable as Superman- Man of Steel was also a darker type of DC movie.
