Let’s Now Have a Closer Look at Design, Hardware, and Software of the Google’s New Offering:

Google Pixel and Pixel XL Display and Design

The two new smartphone from Google share the same design and internal hardware on Pixel and Pixel XL. The aluminium chassis got a sandblasted finish with rounded corners fits into the palm. On the back is a distinctive design with half-glass covering the top from camera till fingerprint.

Some would prefer whole aluminium on the back for more aesthetic and durability reasons, but the partial glass back makes the Pixel stand out from other phones. The fingerprint sensor is within the glass region and is very easy to locate.

While the rear camera has a dual-colour LED flash with laser autofocus module, and a noise cancelling microphone all are placed in the top-left corner which quite identical to the iPhone.

The edges of the phone have got a rounded back, eliminating some pressure point. The front is chamfered similar to what we have seen on HTC 10. The sides of the two smartphones sit flat, makes it easier to hold the Pixel better than an iPhone.

Google Pixel and Pixel XL Camera

The rear camera on both phones is of 12 megapixels which includes 1080p@30fps, 1080p@60fp with 4K video recording, along with 120fps slow-motion video at 1080p and 240fps at 720p. The phone doesn’t have OIS rather have Electronic image stabilization (EIS) for video recording which was one of the highlighted features mentioned at Google Event. The front camera is 8MP which is decent for taking selfies and video calling.

Google Pixel and Pixel Xl CPU & Storage

The inside of these two devices has a Quad-Core QUALCOMM Snapdragon 821 processor for a really great user experience. The phone runs on the latest Android Operating System which is Android Nougat (7.1) with Pixel Launcher on top of it.

Both devices have got a humongous 4GB of RAM which more than enough to run all the applications without any lag whatsoever. The internal storage on both devices comes in two variants one variant is of 32GB, and the other variant is of 128GB. However, Google still didn’t include a Micro SD Card for expandable storage which we can observe from the previous generation Nexus devices.

So, for some users, storage might be a huge deal this time around. However, Google has provided unlimited storage for Photos and videos which can be kept safe in the cloud and removed from the phone safely to save some storage space.

Google Pixel Colors

There seems to be plenty of hype going around with the Blue color on a smartphone these days. Both phones have three colors one is Quite Black and the second is Very Silver if you like white bezels for some reason and then there is Very Blue color for those who like blue color phones. Although Google has not made the Really Blue variant available in India, so most of you will get Very Silver or Quite Black variants.

More from Google Pixel and Pixel XL Event

At the event, Google’s prime focus was into Google Assistant, which is Google’s first step towards a personal Artificial Intelligence for you and your home. The Google Assistant powers Google’s Home hub device which is a serious competitor to Amazon’s Alexa coming later this year, but the Google Assistant is also integrated on both Pixel phones.

The user just has to say familiar words which are “OK, Google” to wake up Assistant who will be ready for you command, whether playing music, looking forecast, reading emails or search some trending news.
