There are various types of motorcycle luggage bags that are available in the market to cater your needs. Tank bags, tail bags, saddle bags, and trunks are the most common choices. Well, you should be very clear about your needs and hence choose your bag accordingly. Here are some of the important things that you must keep in mind before buying any of the motorcycle luggage bags.

Security

Security is the most important thing for your motorcycle luggage bag, as it is going to store a lot of things for your tour or every day travel. Firstly, you need to look for in a bag whether it is going to provide security to the luggage or not. You might have come across some of the bags that are really cheap in price. Such a cheap bags are obviously made from cheap materials that can be easily teared off. Imagine if it happens in the middle of your tour and you are helpless to gather all the stuff coming out of the bag. Therefore, go for such a bag that is made from good material. Another thing is to check whether your chosen bag is providing good locking system that cannot be easily broken by anyone as security lies on good lock as well. So, no matter what kind of luggage bag you chose for your motorcycle, it must be capable of providing security.

Mounting

Mounting is another significant aspect of buying a bag for your motorcycle, as your life is going to be much easier if your bag has a convenient mounting. Always look for such bags that have mounting hardware attached with them. No matter whatever facilities your chosen bag is offering you, never go for it unless it is offering easy mounting system. Moreover, some bags have complicated mounting system so always ask for manual from the seller for instructions. Some riders tie up their bags on the fender when their bags do not have mounting system which results in accidents. Furthermore, it damages the back fender of the motorcycle as well.

The best mounting bag is the one that offers magnetic mounting. It has large magnets in them that are attached to the tank of the motorcycle. The magnet attracts the metal of the tank. However, all the motorcycles do not have metal tanks so make sure before buying such a bag that your motorcycle has a metal tank. Such a bag does not require to tie it up with straps or anything, as all you have to do is to put it on the tank and it gets attached to it. If you want to detach your bag from the tank, grab it and simply pull it off. Just simple as that!

Convenience

Always seek for those bags that are convenient in all the ways. It mainly includes convenience to lock and convenience to access. The locking system of the bag should be easy, so that it does not take so much time and effort. However, it must only be easy to lock but it should not be easy to unlock by everybody and therefore you should never compromise on the security. Your bag should have a convenience of quick release buckles that means it should be able to easily buckle or unbuckle the luggage without having the hassle of using its straps.

Protection

Your bag should also be able to give you protection from injury. In an adverse scenario when a motorcycle crashes and hits the road, the first thing that is going to touch the road is your leg. In such a case, if your bag is of good quality and design then it touches the road while giving a support to your motorcycle. In that way, you will be able to easily take your leg out. However, if your bag is not of good quality, it cannot bear the weight of your motorcycle and it will be pressed under it too.
